Using Multi-Currency for Buy Now Buttons
How can I use the multi-currency function?
Using Multi-Currency in CyberCom Pay is easy. First, you need to decide which foreign currencies you are going to support.
We currently support the following currencies:
- Australian dollars (AUD)
- Canadian dollars (CAD)
- Euros (EUR )
- Great British pounds (GBP)
- South Korean won (KRW )
- Singaporean dollars (SGD)
- Chinese Yuan (CNY)
- United States dollars (USD )
- South African rand (ZAR )
- Hong Kong dollars (HKD)
- Japanese yen (JPY)
There are a number of things you need to be aware of when working with multiple currencies.
Besides factoring the economic climate and its impact on your product pricing, you should also know that the foreign exchange conversion rates can fluctuate quite dramatically in a matter of hours.
Before you can start using this feature, you must turn it on from the Settings section by going to Settings > Update Details.
Using Multi-Currency for Buy Now Buttons
If you are using ‘Buy Now’ buttons and have created a number of products inside the Merchant Tools section of your merchant console and would like to take advantage of the multi-currency feature, then you need to follow the steps outlined below:
The first thing you need to do is to go under Settings (inside your merchant console) and tick the ‘use multi-currency feature’ checkbox.
- Once you’ve done that:
- Click on the Merchant Tools tab across the top
- Then click on the ‘Manage Products’ link on the left hand side (Below Dashboard)
- Either search for a product by name in the text box provided (under Manage Products heading) or click on the ‘Lookup’ button (with ‘Show all products’ checkbox ticked) to view all your products
- Click on the product ID or Product Name to view the product
- Click on Edit Product
At this stage you will see the product update form and 12 new price text fields, one for each foreign currency you wish to support. By default, CyberCom Pay looks at your product price in NZD and applies the current exchange rate and enters the appropriate values in the foreign currency
If you do not wish to support a particular foreign currency, make sure the value in the associated text field for the currency is left blank. For example, if you wish to support AUD but not KRW then make sure KRW stays blank.
Given the nature of foreign currencies, the converted rates may not be the prettiest in terms of rounding and decimal values. So feel free to manually adjust the prices to bring them close to a more reasonable amount.
For example, if the USD to NZD exchange rate is 1.1377 then a $15 (NZD) item may look like USD 13.18, not the prettiest price value… so you can adjust it to USD 13.50 or USD 13 (depending on your own preference and business choice).
Once you’re happy with the currency values, click on ‘Save Changes’ button
